A Few Introductory Notes:

—The 10 Chapters that are presented here as “100 Years of Extravagant Promises” function as The Basic Text of The New Founders Groups of Alcoholics Anonymous, formalized in 2014 as a suggested Framework from which to recover from AA sobriety that has gone awry. Originally intended for internal use, we were made aware that it has broader applications for alcoholic and non-alike, and are now releasing it for your approval, disapproval, or indifference.

—Technically, “The Scientist’s Opinion” functions as the Forward: after addressing the current disease paradigm and the difference between medical and scientific models…

—In their 1939, 1955, 1979, and 2001 Prefaces & Forwards, each corresponding Edition of the Big Book gives updates on interim periods in those 62 years of AA’s history. But the official story is not the only story. Our Sequel’s single “Introduction” will set forth its “Purpose & Scope” and the “Methodological History” of its writing and compilation, acknowledging and explaining the role played by both The New Founders Movement and The Cogniventives. “Predictions & Proposals” will be covered in the final Chapter, “Finishing what Bill Wilson Started,” which will also serve as a “Conclusion” of sorts.
